CPPD the next steps

by admin

As I have mentioned to a number of people, I will not be continuing as LC for CPPD. However, before I formally step down I would like to get an initial Board of Directors assembled and not-for-profit status, or the process at least in progress.

Why do I not just find another person to take over as LC?

Because CPPD has been happening for 7 years, at this point, and is at the point where we need to establish something more permanent, and involving a greater variety of people, so it can move beyond the ‘one person and a few willing volunteers burning out every year’ approach to organizing it. As well, not-for-profit status can bring the opportunity for better fundraising and savings on certain expenses (e.g. insurance).

I have included the details of what I would like to see the Board positions be on the page (to the right) titled “The Future of Calgary Pagan Pride Day” as well as a few more details.

If you would be interested in attending a meeting to discuss this issue, even if you would not be willing to step up for the Board of Directors, please consider voting in the poll on the Yahoogroup. The membership list of the group is available to myself only and the poll results are anonymous.
